Privacy

Effective October 15, 2026 · Edamame Labs LLC

BayHop is built to work without knowing who you are. There is no account, and we don't run servers that receive your data.

Location

With your permission, BayHop uses your location while the app is open to find the nearest BART station and to tell when you're already at one. This happens on your phone. Your location is not sent to us or stored anywhere else, and the app doesn't track you in the background.

What stays on your phone

Your time to each station, recent destinations, and the reminders you set are saved on your device only. Deleting the app deletes them.

Notifications

Leave-now reminders are scheduled on your phone. We don't use push notification servers.

Train data

To show train times, the app downloads public data directly from BART (api.bart.gov). Like any website, BART's servers receive standard request information such as your IP address. These requests carry no information about you from BayHop. See BART's own privacy policy for how it handles them.

No ads, no tracking

BayHop contains no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking.

Changes

If this changes, we'll update this page and its effective date before the new version of the app ships.
